Chris, have you ever given any thought to converting MI to consoles as DLC? I think at a $5-10 pricepoint, this game could be a real hit on something like Wii Ware. The point+click controls particularly lend themselves to the wii remote.

I suppose the hurdle would be in coding the game to fit Nintendo's WiiWare specifications. The 31MB game certainly fits the size limitations.

And jesus, it would give me a reason to dust off my Wii and give it a whirl!

Meh...more than half my friends have a wii...any game on it...gets played for like 1-3 days then the system gets put up...the wii...is just a weekend playing system...

If you really think you would enjoy this game...the PC is the way to go...

I am sorry...just giving my opinion I guess you could say...and well truly if I could get my 360 back online I would say that is the dominant system to own...but no...now my PC is...hence I go with it now...

Well, I'd rather not turn this into a "my console is better than yours" thread. I acknowledge the 360 has a far better library of games than the Wii. That's not the issue though. I'm just saying this is a great game and that I think could be successful on multiple platforms, in addition to its home: the PC.

I say the Wii comes to mind the quickest for me because of the control scheme being easily adaptable.

Suffice to say that I'd love to have Mayhem Intergalactic on consoles, but it's a little out of my reach at the moment. Getting on WiiWare generally requires more industry cred than I currently have, or publisher backing. Same for XBLA. XBox Community Games is a less remote possibility; I simply just don't have time to port it myself, and I'm not sure what the return on investment will be like in the long term on that channel, since it will quickly get clogged with low-quality hobbyist games (not that I have anything against low-quality hobbyist games, I've made enough of them myself in years gone by Smiley ).

I think it would also work really well on the Nintendo DS, but that's another platform with strict gatekeepers. Publisher support would be required there too.

None of this rules it out for the future of course - if I got publisher backing to put Mayhem on any of these platforms then I'd be thrilled. Smiley  I'm merely saying it's not on the cards right this moment.

That's totally understandable. Honestly, as a fan of the game, I'd really rather the creator NOT have to side with a big-name publisher -- I know how that can often lead to unwanted compromises. I'm just thinking long-term for this game's success, since And I genuinely want it to do well, financially.

One of my good friends made a game for XBox Community Games along with some coworkers of his (was involved with Totem). He said the experience wasn't that great. Microsoft has pretty much kept them in the dark on everything, including the game's success.

That being said, I really do think you have hit a sweet spot in simplicity/addictiveness/strategy that clearly works well in a "core gamer" demographic (us), but could also work well in even a casual market (ya know... them).

Rest assured that if I did get publisher backing, they wouldn't be able to force me to make any changes to the PC version that I didn't want to make. At worst I'd just fork it; one version for publishing, one version for you guys. Cool  But I doubt it would come to that. The level of publisher impact on games is often overstated, especially if the game's already "done" and just needs porting. Despite what you may have heard, publishers aren't actually evil. Smiley

Well seeing as I am too lazy to reread what I posted before...

I will try to remember to the best of my knowledge...and I read the response to what I said...

I would like to say tho...if I didnt already...the point and click of this game would help to provide and make it a decent wii game none the less...and I myself also approve that I did not mean to start a console war thread so I am glad you decided to be proper and acknowledge that...
