Very nice. You're right about it being addictive.

I can't help but feel you may be doing yourself a dis-service, though, through the pricing of the full version. Out of curiosity, how many sales have you made?

Glad you like it!

Pricing is a tricky business. I assume from your question that you think the price is too high? That's a criticism that others have made as well, and it's a fair criticism, but not one that I agree with. There are similar games on the market which sell for about the same, so I don't think it's an unreasonable price point.

Having said that, I may tweak the price at some point in the future. In principle, though, if the perceived value of the game is less than than the current price, then I would prefer to improve the game to meet expectations rather than vice versa. So I'm planning to stick it out at $18.95 for the time being.

In keeping with that principle, I will be continually improving Mayhem Intergalactic over time; you'll see from the news page on the website that I've released two minor updates already, which are free to existing customers as well as being the versions that new customers receive. Expect more (and bigger) updates in future!

Regarding sales: Suffice to say that it's about what I expected, but lower than I'd hoped. Smiley

To be fair to you, due to a lack of credit card, low income and Scottish ancestry, any price looks high to me Wink

That's a very good angle to work from.

Heh. Yes, lack of a credit card is a problem that many people have with e-commerce (myself included until recently). I sympathise.

(I do feel obliged to point out, however, that BMT Micro accepts many different payment methods, including money orders; so a credit card is not necessary, just convenient.)

I just tried this demo after seeing this game on the "coming soon" section of gamespot.com.  I am a little bit addicted to the demo and would like the full game... however, I must agree with the previous poster about the price point being a bit high.  I was thinking I'd easily buy this for $9.99 while playing the demo, but then was surprised by the nearly 20 dollar buy-now option.

I understand that you want to get paid -- but perhaps you will make more with higher volume at a cheaper price.  Wal-mart is doing ok with that idea.  Maybe try a 30-day $9.99 sale and see how that goes.

Also, this game would be perfect on Steam as a quick and easy impulse buy , provided the price is "impulse buy friendly".  And, way more people would know this game exists if it were on steam.  Any chance of you using steam to distribute?  I think that you just need a little exposure for this game to really get you some sales.  Like I said, I hadn't even heard of it till I saw it in the coming soon section of gamespot -- which isn't exactly prime real estate for advertising.

Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate you taking the time. I'll certainly keep your comments on the price point in mind.

I had no idea the game was mentioned on Gamespot! That's nice, even if it is a bit tucked away. Smiley

Publicity is definitely something I need to work on. Feel free to help out by spreading the word. Wink  Note that there's a permanent dedicated server being hosted now (you should see it under Multiplayer -> Internet), so if you get some friends to download the demo as well you can all jump on there and have a multiplayer game free of charge.

I would love to distribute Mayhem Intergalactic on Steam. I haven't approached Valve or any other content distribution services yet, but I plan to. Perhaps once I've made a few key improvements; better graphics, for example.
