Both dedicated servers seem to be down right now.  There are two "Unnamed Server"'s up, but it gives the "computer is behind a firewall" error when I try to connect, and noone is one them.  ( My settings are the same as usual).  I tried to screen shot but mayhem seems to have a bug there.

Thanks for reporting this, I've rebooted them.

Chris, I've created a "mayhemig" user and stuck them in a loop started with "/etc/init.d/mayhem.sh start" so hopefully that should bring them back up if they go down again or the server is restarted.

Both of them died with this stack trace if that's any use in tracking down the problem:

Thanks ato - I was meaning to get around to setting them up properly like that. I love having you do my tech support. Grin

Crash bug noted. I can see the immediate cause at least, but I'll have to dig a bit to figure out the deeper reasons.

Servers are broken. Somebody set it to 8 AI players somehow, and the game ended in a tie. Server is stuck on Game is a Tie! screen.

Servers restarted. I haven't updated them to the latest version yet; will do that later.

there is a mayhemd process for linux servers? /etc/init.d/mayhem.sh start said that Wink

I enjoy this game, it's so exciting. I am the owner of 1337-serv0r.net... where can I download the server app? I would like to sponsor a server.

Btw: there are almost not many people on the servers... a web-based or ingame calendar would be very nice. We can meet a special designated times to have some big fleets crashed.

Chris is from australia as I read, I think the player are split all over the world, for an example I am from germany.
So I suggest to add time zone managment in this calendar....  GMT+x, CET and so forth.

Hi teufelernie,

Currently, this is the only way to make a dedicated server. A Linux version will come when it's ready.

As for finding players, do you have the Steam version of the game? If so, please join the official Mayhem Intergalactic group and hop in whenever someone's in-game. This is currently the fastest way to meet up with people.

Hmm. Well, you could always install the steam client, make a free account (if you don't have one), join the group, and add your game shortcut to your games list. But that seems tedious if you don't use Steam for other purposes.

Yes, you can join the Mayhem Intergalactic group even if you don't actually own the game on Steam, so that's exactly what I'd suggest too. Smiley
