Title: *tap* *tap* Testing, testing... Is this thing on? Post by: Chris on July 04, 2007, 01:39:21 pm Just making sure that posting still works. Move along, nothing to see here.
Note to self: If SMF spontaneously starts throwing up bizarre error messages for no apparent reason (like insisting "You should fill in a username" when people try to log in, even if they have entered a username), check to see if the filesystem path in Settings.php is correct. For some reason my web host decided to move my home directory without telling me, and since I didn't know about it, neither did SMF. This resulted in a very confused forum! Have they no formal operating procedure where they notify the customers of something like that? heh

Post by: Chris on July 11, 2007, 08:02:32 am They do, but they didn't say anything about this. :) Probably the way I was referring to the home directory wasn't meant to work in the first place; there are at least two different aliases for it and I'm not sure which one is canonical.
Anyway, doesn't matter. It's fixed now, and it if happens again I'll fix it again. Title: Re: *tap* *tap* Testing, testing... Is this thing on? Post by: Nethera on July 18, 2007, 09:26:05 pm Just looking around and noticed I was the only one playing this on the internet? Title: Re: *tap* *tap* Testing, testing... Is this thing on? Post by: Chris on July 19, 2007, 01:46:14 am There are a few people wanting to play on the internet, but unfortunately it's difficult to find each other since there's rarely a server up. I'm aware of this problem, and I'm in the process of improving the system to make it easier to find a game. I'm working on dedicated server functionality at the moment; once that's up, demo players will be able to join the dedicated server and play on it, which should hopefully help to increase the multiplayer population.
Also, I just started this thread (http://www.inventivedingo.com/forums/index.php?topic=8.msg20#msg20) to try and help people meet up. If you're so inclined, you can help by spreading the word about the game. :) |
