Title: Map editor? Post by: Jp on December 05, 2008, 06:01:21 am Hi, Chris. Given that there's currently no map editor for MI, and the open-ness of the map format, I've been considering writing one myself and releasing it on the forums.
There are a few things I'd like to ask: - Firstly, is this okay? I wouldn't want to step on any fingers or anything. Basically, do you mind? - Secondly, assuming it is okay, would you like to see in-progress versions before they go anywhere public? - Thirdly, are there any gotchas with the map format that aren't currently documented on the forum? International characters are fine as long as you use UTF-8 encoding (Mayhem almost always uses UTF-8 internally). Remember to support rifts as well as planets. Pay attention to UI design.
