Title: BUG: AI vs natives stalemate
Post by: ato on February 04, 2009, 09:20:28 am
I joined the dedicated server and found a single AI having a fight with natives after over a thousand turns.  The server list showed 2 users as being present (before I joined), so perhaps it's related to the observer on custom map thing. See the attached screenshot. I've since restarted the server.

Well, you can say one thing about the AI - it's persistent! Dumb, but persistent.

It may be related to the crop of bugs which I've fixed locally. We'll have to see if it still happens after the next patch.

Wait.

Natives can't take planets back, can they?

No, they can't.

What about a "random revolution" or "rebels" to redo  a planet to native?

I'm not sure it would be very fun to randomly have some of your planets revert back to native control. :)

Anythign like that would have to be in a much more political game like civ.  In mayhem we want to hop in, kick ass and get off.  Putting down rebellions would jsut be annoying.  Only possible way I can think of would be to have a way to use ships as propaganda machines.  You would have to garrison them at enemy planets and they produce a certian amount of distrust per turn based on the number of enemy ships. at a certian point the planet rebels.  I think its too complex for mayhem though.
